Charity trustees (sometimes called directors) are the people in overall control and management of a charity. They are responsible for the charity’s governance and strategy, and for making sure that the charity is administered effectively. They must account for its activities and outcomes. Responsibilities:
Use the skills, knowledge, networks and/or experience you bring to help the Board of trustees reach sound decisions.
Scrutinising board papers
Leading discussions
Providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
Competencies:
An interest in or links with South Asia.
Previous experience of being a trustee is welcome but not required.
Either of the following:
Expertise in business management.
Expertise in charity management.
Expertise in Human Resources management.
Fundraising.
Qualifications:
No specific qualifications required
